FAIST: main results to be presented at SIMAC Tanning Tech 2025
Taking place on the 24th of September during the SIMAC trade fair, in Milan, the FAIST seminar will present its main results. Speakers from CTCP will be in attendance, as well as representatives from the project’s participating companies

As promoter of the FAIST (Agile, Intelligent, Sustainable and Technological Factory) consortium, the CTCP (Portuguese Footwear Technology Centre) will be present at the SIMAC Tanning Tech, the leading footwear and leather technology fair, happening in Milan Rho from the 23rd to the 25th of September, in Hall 10, at stands A32 and B31.  

However, the focus will be the FAIST seminar on the 24th at 10 am, titled “The Strategic Alliance that Brings People and Technology Together to Innovate the Portuguese Footwear Sector”

In the first part, Cristiano Figueiredo (CTCP), Florbela Silva (CTCP) and Pedro Duarte (CTCP) will give an overview of the project and present its key findings. The second part will consist of a roundtable discussion with Cristiano Figueiredo (CTCP), Pedro Duarte (CTCP), Rita Souto (CTCP), João Bernardo from the software technology company MIND and João Carvalho from the sole manufacturer Atlanta Steps. The roundtable will be moderated by Florbela Silva from CTCP and Joana Vaz Teixeira from the World Footwear.

At the end of the event, there will be a guided tour of the stands of the project’s partner companies, who will be exhibiting at Lineapelle and SIMAC. 




The FAIST project – which has brought together a consortium of over 40 Portuguese companies, including footwear and leather goods manufacturers, equipment and software developers, and scientific and technological organisations – aims to strengthen the sector by introducing innovative technologies and processes that respond to current and future needs. It focuses on digitalisation and sustainability, striving for greater efficiency and profitability, improved working conditions, and product differentiation.
