Vietnam secures the 2nd position amongst leather footwear exporters
In 2022, the Asian country exported 387 million pairs of leather shoes, with a total value of 9.6 billion US dollars, overtaking Italy in the second position


In 2022 Vietnam made significant strides in the leather footwear market, securing 2nd position among the main exporters and overtaking Italy, with only a 2.6 percentage point difference behind China (in terms of value of exports). 

Moving further down the list of the top 10 exporters, Indonesia overtook Germany to claim the 4th spot, while France overtook the Netherlands to secure the 7th position.

The top 10 exporters collectively account for 78% of global exports, a considerably lower proportion compared to rubber & plastic and textile footwear categories, for example.
