MATA unveils AW26 collection, introducing women’s line for the first time

The Portuguese company unveiled its Autumn/Winter 2026 collection at the last MICAM. Focusing on waterproof performance, the collection marks the company’s entry into the women’s segment
At the last edition of the MICAM trade fair (held between the 22th and the 24th of February), MATA presented its Autumn/Winter 2026 collection, structured around two distinct lines: the continuation of the M-Dv men’s collection and the debut of the WD women’s collection. Both incorporate protection against natural elements into the design of the footwear without compromising on aesthetics.
With a strong focus on waterproofing, the range features the MATA TEX membrane, which is applied between the leather and the lining to provide an effective barrier against moisture whilst ensuring breathability and thermal comfort for winter conditions.
MATA’s Autumn/Winter 2026 offering reflects a technical approach centred on performance in urban environments. According to Rui Oliveira, the company’s Managing Director, these two lines reflect the demands that the company has encountered over the years, combining technical aspects with design elements to respond to evolving consumer demands.
The innovation extends to the insole, which is constructed without a metal frame and lined with memory foam to preserve the shoe’s structure while enhancing the wearing experience. The removable memory foam insole, combined with a heel stabiliser, ensures a precise, personalised fit and long-lasting comfort.
Additional features include a metal-free insole construction with memory foam for enhanced comfort, alongside a removable insole and heel stabiliser designed to improve fit and support. Natural, handcrafted finishes complete the range, highlighting a balance between durability, functionality and design.
