Kurt Geiger to open 13 to 15 stores in the UK
The Chief Executive of Kurt Geiger, Neil Clifford, has told the daily The Times that the British retailer is planning to open a new shop every month of the current year
Clifford noted that sales recovered to 80% of pre-pandemic levels, highlighting three elements: shoppers returning to the high street, the resilience of online sales and the revival of  high-heel shoes. The recent opening of a warehouse in Los Angeles is also boosting the US sales.

This favourable conjuncture may result in the opening of 13 to 15 new stores in the UK this year, the highest number since 2008. The CEO also commented that landlords are “being a lot more friendly”, having decreased rents and other elements, which have contributed to the recovery of the physical retail.

In addition, the luxury retailer is also captivating new customers thanks to charitable donations and activations made during the COVID-19 pandemic, such as NHS donations and discount for health care workers, which have won the favour from global shoppers. The company intends to continue donating 5% of its profits in future.
