In 2022, global footwear production reached 23.9 billion pairs, increasing by 7.6% compared to the previous year. A group of 10 countries accounted for 88% of all footwear produce in the world


The top 10 footwear producers account for 88% of all footwear manufactured in the world. 

China marginally increased its share of global production in 2022, reaching 54.6%, reversing the downward trend observed in recent years.

The table of the top 10 footwear producers includes seven other Asian countries with India, Vietnam and Indonesia occupying the top four positions. Among this group, Vietnam experienced the highest production growth at 10.3%. 

Brazil and Mexico are the sole non-Asian countries on this list, ranking 5th and 9th respectively, mirroring their positions from the previous year.
