Twelve new emerging designers take the spotlight at MICAM Milano

The Emerging Designers initiative is returning to MICAM Milano this September, bringing together twelve international designers who have been selected for their creative approach to contemporary footwear

MICAM will shine the spotlight on the next generation of footwear talent when its Emerging Designers project returns to Fiera Milano Rho from the 13^th to the 15^thof September 2026.

Now in its ninth year, the initiative will showcase twelve emerging designers and brands from across the globe: Éclat, En Talons, Joel Wijangco, Maliko, Moon2gether, Nalebe, Paidal, Raphia, Stefano Mugnai, The Dreamers Club, Tenconi and Wud.

“Supporting new talent means investing in the future of the entire footwear supply chain. With Emerging Designers, we want to give up-and-coming designers not just international visibility, but also a genuine opportunity to connect with buyers, companies and industry professionals”, said Giovanna Ceolini, President of MICAM and Assocalzaturifici, emphasising the role of the fair as a meeting point between creativity and the market.

During the September event, the selected brands will present their collections in the Emerging Designers area, which is designed to raise their profile among MICAM’s international audience. They will also take part in MICAM Next, where they will talk about their creative processes and their vision for the future of footwear.

According to the organisation, this year’s collections will showcase a diverse range of approaches, combining craftsmanship, material research, constructive innovation, and contemporary reinterpretations of footwear design. What unites them is a shared focus on experimentation, design quality and product functionality, with design, comfort and brand identity playing an increasingly central role.

The 12 designers were selected by a jury chaired by the footwear designer, Ernesto Esposito. The panel also comprised Sabrina Donadel, Ada Kokosar, Americo Cacciapuoti, Bojan Kostic, Sergio Zambon, MICAM President Giovanna Ceolini, and Chief Executive Officer Giorgio Possagno.

“We have now reached the ninth edition of Emerging Designers, and once again we’re seeing how creativity can find a genuine opportunity for growth at MICAM. The goal is to bring together design ideas, production expertise and the international market, guiding designers along the path from creative research to building a business”, commented Ernesto Esposito, Chair of the Emerging Designers jury.
