MICAM expands global reach and redesigns fair layout
The leading trade fair has broadened its international reach and revamped its layout to enhance the visitor experience and business opportunities ahead of its 101st edition
Scheduled to take place from the 22nd to the 24th of February 2026, at Rho Fiera Milano, MICAM is positioning itself as a strategic hub connecting companies, bringing together companies, buyers, and industry professionals from major global markets.
According to the organisers, there has been a significant increase in international outreach, with the number of incoming buyers doubling compared to previous editions, thanks to substantial investment in incoming delegations and the careful selection of international buyers. The initiative has been developed in collaboration with Italy’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAECI) and the Italian Trade Agency (ICE).
“Today, MICAM represents much more than a trade fair: it is a strategic hub for the entire footwear ecosystem, a meeting point for industrial vision, innovation, and internationalisation. Its centrality on both the national and global stage demonstrates how the Italian sector continues to be a protagonist and a point of reference for the international market”, commented Giovanna Ceolini, President of MICAM and Assocalzaturifici.
Looking ahead to 2026, the key priorities for the industry include strengthening the global positioning of Made in Italy, accelerating sustainability and product innovation, adapting distribution models, and enhancing manufacturing capabilities.
At the same time, the fair is launching a major redesign of its exhibition layout. The redesigned configuration introduces a more fluid and readable distribution of the halls based on product categories. This is intended to improve the visitor experience and enhance business opportunities.
Hall 1 will showcase elegant and comfortable footwear. Hall 3 will focus on creativity and style. Halls 2 and 4 will highlight innovation and contemporary design. Hall 5 will present global trends. Additionally, Hall 5 will also feature a new central hub developed in collaboration with MIPEL. This hub will house M&M – The Hub, which brings together training, research and innovation initiatives, including MICAM Academy and the Italian Startup area.
