Andrea Guerra appointed CEO of the Prada group
The luxury group announced that the former CEO of Luxottica and LVMH's hospitality unit, Andrea Guerra, will be proposed as CEO at the next board meeting on the 26th of January 2023
This appointment follows the decision of Patrizio Bertelli and Miuccia Prada to step down from their role as co-CEOs, in an attempt to ease the transition of control to the next generation. Bertelli will become chairman of the board, thus remaining active in the company, while Prada will continue as creative director of Miu Miu and co-creative director of Prada (alongside Raf Simons). The group is also planning to name a new brand CEO for its flagship Prada label shortly.

"This is a fundamental step we have decided to undertake, while completely engaged in the company, to contribute more to the evolution of the Prada Group and to ease the succession of Lorenzo Bertelli, the future leader of the Group", stated Miuccia Prada and Patrizio Bertelli in a statement.

Andrea Guerra led Luxottica, which owns Ray-Ban, Oakleys and Sunglass Hutt, as well as licensing the Prada and Armani names, from 2004 to 2014, and, since then, he has held the roles of Executive Chairman of Eataly and CEO of LMVM’s hospitality division. "Andrea Guerra, with his long professional experience, has shown entrepreneurial skills in businesses where the founders are present and engaged, blending their culture and the needs of a company continuously evolving and active on international markets", underlined Prada and Bertelli.
