Zalando grows in the third quarter as B2C and B2B pillars expand
The online retailer recorded higher GMV and revenue in the third quarter, driven by growth in its B2B and B2C pillars. It also introduced Zalando Extended to expand its platform through AI-powered shopping
In the third quarter of the 2026 financial year, Zalando reported a GMV growth of 7.5%, compared to the same period of last year, reaching 4.54 billion euros. Group revenue also rose by 5.1% year-on-year to 3.17 billion euros.

During the period, B2C revenue totalled 2.83 billion euros, up from 2.75 billion euros in the same quarter of 2025. The company emphasised that its platform business continued to grow, with GMV rising by 2.9 percentage points to 33.6%. The number of active customers reached a record 63.2 million, up by 2.9%, while the average spend per customer increased by 2.9% to 308 euros.

At the same time, B2B revenue amounted to 354.4 million euros, up from 277.1 million euros in the third quarter of the previous year. Growth was driven by increased demand for its logistics, marketplace connectivity, and e-commerce software services. Key developments included expanding fulfilment partnerships with NEXT and Marks & Spencer, as well as gaining new enterprise customers for SCAYLE and ZEOS, such as Champion, LC Waikiki and Lascana.

In the third quarter of this year, the company’s adjusted EBIT rose by 10.6% year-on-year to 107 million euros, with the adjusted EBIT margin rising by 0.2 percentage points to 3.4%. This was driven by lower fulfilment costs, mid-teens millions of euros in synergies from the ABOUT YOU integration, and strong B2B growth.

“One year in, the ABOUT YOU integration is progressing well and we kept our momentum in delivering synergies”, emphasised Anna Dimitrova, CFO of Zalando. “At the same time, our shift to a platform business model is accelerating, with our partner business and retail media growing at a double-digit rate and B2B revenue up almost 28%. This puts us in a strong position to create long-term value for customers, partners and shareholders”.

Following its performance in the third quarter, Zalando has reiterated its full-year guidance. The company expects GMV and revenue growth to be in the lower half of its reported range of 12% to 17%, and adjusted EBIT to be between 680 and 720 million euros.

AI Investment

Zalando is expanding its platform beyond products sold directly through its own business with Zalando Extended. This initiative uses AI agents to enable customers to discover and purchase products from third-party online shops without leaving the company’s app. The first pilot partner is Westwing, and the purchase of its home and living products powered by AI is expected to launch in 2027.

This is expected to open up new sales and retail media opportunities for partner brands, while also expanding Zalando’s own product range.
