Vapesol to invest 1.5 million euros in a production facility for SBR rubber soles

An investment of 1.5 million euros in the creation of a production facility will enable the Portuguese manufacturer of footwear soles to produce 5,000 pairs of SBR rubber soles per day
Vapesol, a leading Portuguese manufacturer of footwear soles which recently released its Sustainability Report in collaboration with the Portuguese Footwear Technological Centre (CTCP), has entered into a commercial agreement with Tecnirolo/Lary Portugal. This agreement will lead to the creation of a production facility for SBR rubber soles.
The agreement, which includes an investment of 1.5 million euros, will enable Vapesol to produce 5,000 pairs of SBR rubber soles per day from February 2026.
With two decades of experience in the rubber market, its partner is a leader in implementing this advanced technology, ensuring greater production efficiency and lower waste rates. Led by Tecnirolo/Lary Portugal, this technology will substantially reduce MO during both preparation and rubber injection.
At Vapesol, all rubber production will be 100% injection-based, whether single-colour or two-colour, abandoning the traditional compression method. Innovative methods will be employed that meet complete monitoring requirements, in line with the principles of Industry 4.0.
The process has been initiated gradually. Vapesol is already in production, with improvements to be made gradually until mid-February next year. “This will be big news at the largest international footwear components trade fair”, says Décio Pereira, CEO of Vapesol.
