Türkiye is a global leader in textiles and ready-to-wear. Where does the footwear sector stand within this ecosystem?

Türkiye’s success in textiles and apparel is built on decades of expertise and technical know-how. The footwear industry is an integral part of this ecosystem. Today, we combine design strength with engineering capabilities. Türkiye is no longer just a production hub but a fashion design center. With an annual capacity of 500–600 million pairs, we deliver not only products but complete fashion solutions.

Why are global brands shifting their production to Türkiye? Which major brands prefer Türkiye?

Global brands trust Türkiye’s quality and speed. Companies like adidas, Nike, Puma, Skechers, Zara, Mango, H&M, and Marks & Spencer produce here. Luxury brands such as Hugo Boss, Prada, and Lacoste also rely on Türkiye for its craftsmanship. The key drivers are sustainability standards and a near-zero error rate in production.

Why is Türkiye’s geographical position and production scale so strategically important?

Türkiye acts as a logistics bridge between East and West. Deliveries to Europe can be completed within 3–4 days, reducing stock costs and securing supply chains. This makes Türkiye a strong alternative to Far East production. Its scale allows consistent quality across both small and large orders.

What is Türkiye’s advantage in speed and flexibility?

Speed and flexibility define Türkiye’s strength. Compared to the Far East, collections can be produced within weeks. The entire supply chain exists within the country, from raw materials to sub-industry. This allows Türkiye to compete with China in speed and Italy in design.

Can you tell us about AYSAD and AYSAF?

AYSAD is the driving force behind the global positioning of Türkiye’s footwear sub-industry. For 37 years, it has organized AYSAF, now one of the top three exhibitions worldwide. AYSAF gathers all components of the industry under one roof.

Why is AYSAF critical for buyers and exhibitors?

AYSAF hosts over 300 companies and thousands of visitors from more than 60 countries. Exhibitors gain global visibility, while buyers can source all components in one place. The fair generates billions in trade volume.

What about sustainability and technology investments?

Sustainability is now essential. Türkiye integrates recycled materials, sustainable leather processing, and digital design technologies to reduce its carbon footprint. These innovations will be showcased at AYSAF.

How will this combined strength shape the future?

“Made in Türkiye” represents quality and trust globally. With AYSAD’s leadership and AYSAF’s commercial power, Türkiye continues to strengthen its role as a key production and fashion hub.
