adidas raises full-year profit outlook

The Germany-based company has increased its operating profit outlook for the full year 2026 based on preliminary third quarter results showing record top- and bottom-line performance
In the third quarter of the 2026 financial year, adidas reported a revenue of 7.3 billion euros, reflecting a 9% increase compared to the same period last year. On a currency-neutral basis, revenue grew by 7%. The gross margin rose by 2.5 percentage points to 54.3%. Operating profit increased by 37% compared to the same period last year, reaching 1.01 billion euros, the highest quarterly figure ever recorded by the company.
The company received most of its US tariff refunds during the quarter, recording a reimbursement of around 200 million euros, which contributed to the increase in gross margin, alongside strong full-price sales. However, unfavourable currency movements partly offset these gains.
Following its better-than-expected third-quarter results, adidas has increased its operating profit forecast for 2026 to around 2.5 billion euros, up from a previous estimate of 2.3 billion euros. The company expects revenue growth of between 9% and 10% for the full year, on a currency-neutral basis.
The revised outlook reflects stronger-than-expected profitability and around 200 million euros in US tariff refunds. The company initially expected operating profit to reach around 2.6 billion euros, but now plans to reinvest approximately 100 million euros in initiatives aimed at improving future operating leverage in the fourth quarter, in line with its medium-term profitability targets.
adidas will publish its final set of third-quarter financial results on the 29th of October 2026.
