069 CONNECT to redefine industry dialogue

HDS/L and Messe Offenbach present a new event that will gather brand leaders, retailers and decision-makers to exchange ideas and explore opportunities for the footwear industry

The Federal Association of the German Footwear and Leather Goods Industry (HDS/L) and Messe Offenbach have announced the launch of ‘069 CONNECT’, a new event for the footwear and leather goods sector.

The premiere edition will take place in Offenbach from the 24^th to 25^th of June 2026, introducing a new concept designed to foster collaboration, dialogue and inspiration across the industry. With the theme ‘People. Business. Future.’, the initiative aims to unite brand manufacturers, retailers and decision-makers in a setting focused on creative exchange rather than traditional sales activity.

The organisers describe 069 CONNECT as “deliberately not a trade fair”, emphasising that the goal is not to replicate the traditional exhibition model but to create a space for conversation and innovation. The event will feature stylish, small-scale presentation areas where exhibitors can display their products while exchanging with retail and fashion leaders.

HDS/L Chairman Carl-August Seibel highlighted that the industry has long lacked a format of this kind. “069 CONNECT will not be a sales event, but a place where ideas grow and new impetus for the industry is found”, he shared. The Chairman explained that the event aims to bring together decision-makers from industry and trade in a relaxed environment, creating opportunities for collaboration.

The supporting programme will be a significant focus of the event, featuring keynotes, lectures and networking sessions with leading figures in politics, business and fashion. These sessions are designed to encourage participants to explore new perspectives and identify strategic opportunities for the future of the footwear and leather goods sector.

A highlight of the event will be the evening networking gathering on the 24^th of June, hosted by Messe Offenbach. This informal gathering will allow exhibitors and visitors to strengthen professional ties and exchange ideas in a more relaxed, social atmosphere.
