Primark launches first UK mobile app

The fashion retailer has launched its first mobile-friendly customer app in the UK. This follows its successful launches in Ireland and Italy, and is part of its ongoing investment in digital technology
The app, which is now available via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, brings together a range of features designed to complement Primark’s store-led model. These features include access to click-and-collect services, real-time stock checks, store information, personalised notifications, and a favourites function. This launch follows its rollout in Ireland and Italy last summer.
“We know our customers expect great value and an effortless shopping experience, wherever they are. Our new app puts exactly that in the palm of their hand, from personalised updates on the latest trends to faster, more convenient ways to browse and shop via Click & Collect”, said Kari Rodgers, UK Retail Director at Primark.
She added: “This is just the next step in bringing everyday value to more UK shoppers in a way that’s simple, seamless and built around their needs”. The mobile app is designed to work seamlessly with Primark’s popular Click & Collect service. Available in all 189 stores across England, Scotland and Wales, it lets shoppers browse, order and pay for items online before picking them up in store.
Matt Houston, Chief Customer & Digital Officer at Primark, commented they are excited to bring a “more connected shopping experience to the UK”. “Customers are increasingly turning to digital tools that make shopping easier and more rewarding, and we’re confident that our app will deliver an intuitive, personalised experience that’s been carefully designed to help them get the most out of every Primark visit”.
The fashion retailer has been steadily investing in digital technology, building on the success of its social media platforms. It has over 25 million followers globally and has seen consistent growth in website traffic, with 25% of visitors to the UK website using the stock check feature.
