The US fashion designer has teamed up with the Portuguese Footwear Association and the Mariano Shoes brand for his latest show at the Paris Fashion Week
Portuguese shoes took centre stage at the event. For his second show in Paris, entitled ‘Huron’ and held on the 26th of June, the designer Willy Chavarria partnered up with the Portuguese Footwear, Components, Leather Goods Manufacturers’ Association (APICCAPS) and the luxury footwear brand Mariano Shoes.

Willy Chavarria is proud to partner with APICCAPS, the Portuguese Footwear Association, and Mariano Shoes, a fourth-generation Portuguese brand for the brand’s Paris Runway Show. This reflects a shared commitment to honouring craft while pushing the boundaries of contemporary design”, said the American designer, Willy Chavarria.

This is not the first time that Portuguese shoes have appeared on international runways. Since the start of the year, they have been on display at Paris and New York Fashion Weeks as part of the Bioshoes4All project, which brings the industry closer to some of the world’s leading designers.

The initiative aims to promote the potential of the Portuguese footwear industry and ‘Made in Portugal’ products.
