Was working in the footwear industry a natural choice?
No doubt about it! During my time at university, I coincidentally had several interactions with the industry, which allowed me to immerse myself in its workings and acquire some prior knowledge. This naturally sparked my curiosity about the ‘world of shoes’, which has led me here. How would you describe your brand or project, and what makes it stand out in the market?
Our company specialises in men’s classic footwear. We aim to evolve alongside the market and respond to its new needs, prioritising quality and excellence in our products. Our goal is to attract higher segments/luxury brands, as we work under a private label agreement and always offer great value for money.
What have been the biggest challenges to date?
I think the biggest challenge is understanding all the components that make up a shoe and grasping the complexity of producing a good one. In other words, it’s about getting to know the product and the entire production process. Before I joined the industry, I didn’t realise how many factors influence shoe production, how technically demanding it is, or how much knowledge is required to produce a quality product. What advice would you give to a young person just starting out in the industry?
In my view, it’s crucial to start by understanding the product and the production process. We should listen to and absorb the knowledge of those who have more experience, as they can guide us through this learning process. It’s also important not to lose our voice, but to offer our vision and fresh, updated perspectives so that we can breathe new life into the industry.
