Pedro Vives appointed president of FUTURMODA

Pedro Vives has been appointed as the new president of FUTURMODA. He succeeds José Antonio Ibarra, who led the fair for eight years, covering 16 consecutive editions
He previously served as president of FUTURMODA for over six years, prior to Ibarra’s tenure. During that time, he played a pivotal role in redesigning the fair, establishing its current position as a platform for business, trends and innovation in the footwear and leather goods industries.
With more than 20 years of experience in machinery and industrial digitalisation, Vives is the Spanish distributor for Italian machinery manufacturer Comelz. He has also been a member of the Spanish Association of Footwear Component Companies' (AEC) board of directors since the early 2000s.
“I am taking on this new challenge with great enthusiasm and the same commitment I showed at the fair a few years ago. FUTURMODA has grown tremendously since then, and I want to continue working to ensure that the fair remains a solid meeting point for the entire footwear and leather goods industry”, said Pedro Vives.
Vives also thanked Ibarra for his leadership, describing the past eight years as a positive period that has put the fair in a strong position for the future.
FUTURMODA, the international trade fair specialising in components, tanning, textiles, materials, machinery, technology and solutions for footwear, leather goods and fashion, is organised by the Spanish Association of Footwear Component Companies (AEC).
