Kering promotes Sophie Maddaloni to General Secretary

The luxury group has appointed Sophie Maddaloni as General Secretary of the Group, placing her on the Executive Committee and giving her oversight of the legal, control, audit and security functions
Sophie Maddaloni became General Secretary of the France-based group on the 15th of September. Based in Paris, she has joined the Kering Executive Committee and will report to Jean-Marc Duplaix in his capacity as Group Chief Operating Officer.
In her new role, she will supervise Kering’s governance, safeguarding its interests and upholding the highest compliance standards. She will oversee the Legal, Internal Control, Internal Audit and Security departments, working closely with the Executive Management Team and the Board of Directors.
According to the statement, Maddaloni brings recognised expertise in legal affairs, governance and organisational transformation, drawing on solid experience gained within major international groups. “Her track record and in-depth knowledge of Kering will be valuable assets in supporting the implementation of the group’s strategic priorities, strengthening its governance standards further and sustaining its long-term development”.
She first joined Kering in 2017 as Group Tax Director. In this position, she spearheaded the transformation of the tax function, contributing to the strengthening of the group’s compliance and risk management framework.
