Kering appoints Chief Digital, AI & IT Officer

The France-based luxury group has announced the appointment of Pierre Houlès as Chief Digital, AI, and IT Officer, effective immediately. He joined the company from Renault
As Chief Digital, AI and IT Officer, Houlès will be responsible for strengthening Kering’s digital strategy and accelerating the transformation of its technological architecture in order to support its operational and technological ambitions. He will report to Jean Marc Duplaix, Group Chief Operating Officer.
Houlès joins the luxury group from Renault, where he has led the company’s digital transformation since 2016. In 2019, he was appointed managing director of Renault Digital and deputy chief information officer of the group. He also served as technical director for the Mobilize and Dacia brands during this time.
The appointment highlights CEO Luca de Meo’s strategy of streamlining senior roles as he attempts to turn around the struggling French luxury group. Once again, he has recruited former colleagues from the automotive industry, following his time at Renault Group.
According to the statement, Houlès’ expertise “in large-scale transformation, the integration of complex systems, and the application of emerging technologies, notably artificial intelligence, will be instrumental in accelerating the development of a more integrated, innovative, and forward-looking group”.
