International exhibitions in Asia strengthen industry links

From China to Vietnam, the industry spotlight was on innovation, sourcing and design as leading trade fairs hosted global brands, suppliers and buyers seeking to reinforce connections across markets
Guangzhou
The 33rd International Exhibition on Shoes and Leather Industry – Guangzhou was held from May 15 to 17, 2025, at the China Import and Export Fair Complex, attracting attention from global industry stakeholders. The event provided participants with a comprehensive overview of the footwear and leather sectors, showcasing the latest trends, technological innovations, and emerging business opportunities.
This edition featured 726 exhibitors from 17 countries and regions. Companies from the shoe-making machinery, leather machinery, chemicals, raw materials, and components sectors were among those present. Visitor numbers reached 13,565 from 77 countries and regions, underlining the exhibition’s international profile.
With dedicated halls for machinery and materials, attendees had the opportunity to engage with a wide range of solutions and products. Presentations by experts highlighted advances in technology, sustainability and design, offering insights into the evolving demands of global markets and providing guidance on future developments.
Running alongside the main exhibition, the International Footwear Exhibition (IFLE) – Guangzhou focused specifically on finished footwear and leather goods. This event brought together 146 exhibitors from seven countries and regions, including China, India, Malaysia, South Africa and Vietnam. Its product categories ranged from women’s and men’s shoes to sports footwear, casual lines and leather accessories.
The IFLE attracted 2,938 visitors from 77 countries. By concentrating on market-ready products, it offered buyers and retailers direct access to collections, enabling business transactions and procurement in a dedicated professional environment. Looking ahead, organisers have confirmed that both the International Exhibition on Shoes and Leather Industry – Guangzhou and the IFLE will return to the China Import and Export Fair Complex from May 20 to 22, 2026.
Vietnam
Later in July 2025, the industry's focus shifted to Southeast Asia with the 25th International Shoes and Leather Exhibition – Vietnam. The exhibition hosted 569 exhibitors from 24 countries, covering the entire supply chain. Displays ranged from raw materials and machinery to innovative technologies, as well as finished products such as footwear, handbags and suitcases. The accompanying International Footwear & Leather Products Exhibition provided targeted opportunities for buyers seeking direct procurement and partnerships.
The event attracted 11,583 professional visitors from 63 countries. With a strong emphasis on innovation, sourcing and global trade connections, it reinforced Vietnam’s role as a hub for the footwear and leather industries. Organisers have confirmed that the next edition will take place from July 8 to 10, 2026, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center, in Ho Chi Minh City.
