Fast Retailing posts strong full-year revenue growth

The Japan-based fashion retailer reported a revenue growth of 16.6% in the 2026 financial year compared to the previous year, supported by strong growth of the Uniqlo brand both domestically and internationally
In the 2026 financial year, which ended on the 31st of August, Fast Retailing recorded a revenue of 3.96 trillion yen (22.3 billion euros), which represents an increase of 16.6% compared to the previous financial year. Full-year business profit reached 718.4 billion yen (4.0 billion euros), a 34.0% rise year-on-year, and profit attributable to the owners of the parent company stood at 542.5 billion yen (3.1 billion euros), a 25.3% rise year-on-year.
The Uniqlo brand reported a solid performance in its domestic market of Japan. In the twelve months up to the end of August, revenue totalled 1.08 trillion yen (6.1 billion euros), reflecting a 5.7% increase compared to the 2025 financial year. Same-store sales increased by 5.1%, driven by strong sales of on-trend products and functional ranges that met customer needs. Business profit in the country was 196 billion yen (1.1 billion euros), up by 8.1% year-on-year.
Growth was stronger internationally for Uniqlo. Full-year revenue grew by 26.2% compared to the same period last year, reaching 2.41 trillion yen (13.7 billion euros). In local currency terms, double-digit revenue growth was reported in South Korea, Southeast Asia, India and Australia, North America and Europe. Business profit also grew substantially, by 44.1% year-on-year to 439.8 billion yen (2.5 billion euros).
Compared to full-year 2025 figures, the GU segment recorded a revenue of 336.7 billion yen (1.9 billion euros), marking an 1.8% growth, and a business profit of 31.5 billion yen (177.3 million euros), marking an 11% growth. Meanwhile, Global Brands’ revenue decreased by 2.3% year-on-year to 128.5 billion yen (723.3 million euros), though its business profit increased by 6.8% year-on-year to 2.8 billion yen (15.8 million euros).
Outlook
Fast Retailing anticipates a consolidated revenue of 4.45 trillion yen (25.0 billion euros) for the 2027 financial year, reflecting a 12.3% year-on-year increase. The company also forecasts a consolidated business profit of 830.0 billion yen (4.7 billion euros), 15.5% year-on-year growth, and a profit attributable to the owners of 560.0 billion yen (3.2 billion euros), 3.2% year-on-year growth.1 YEN = 0.0056 EUR
