Tod’s Group appoints John Galantic as its new Chief Executive Officer
The Italian-based luxury group has appointed John Galantic, former Chanel's senior executive, as its new Chief Executive Officer. This decision follows the privatisation agreement in June
“Galantic’s proven experience in the luxury sector with a specific focus on brand building will help Tod’s Group to increase its growth potential globally”, stated the company in its release.
Tod’s Group, the Italian luxury company, has appointed John Galantic as its Chief Executive Officer to replace its founder, Diego Della Valle, who will retain his position as the group’s Chairman.
Galantic has held several executive leadership roles in the US, Italy and France. Most recently, he was President and Chief Operating Officer of Chanel. He holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and has a bachelor's degree from Tufts University. Galantic also serves on the boards of Ferrari and Bacardi.
Tod’s Group was delisted from the Milan Stock Exchange in June, after entering into an agreement with L Catterton, an investment fund associated with LVMH. The company has been struggling with declining sales and a weakened Chinese market. In the first quarter, Tod’s reported total sales of 252.3 million euros, a decrease of 6.5% year-over-year.
