Solid growth in 2025 for Decathlon
The France-based sports retailer has reported solid growth in sales and profitability in 2025, highlighting several achievements as well in sustainability and people-related areas

Full-Year Results

In 2025, the company’s gross merchandise volume (GMV) increased by 7.1%, while net sales increased by 5.6% in local currencies compared to the previous year. After adjusting for exchange rate fluctuations, GMV totalled 20.7 billion euros, while net sales grew by 4.0% to 16.8 billion euros.

Decathlon also recorded several profitability gains. On a comparable basis to 2025, EBITDA rose by 21% to 1.8 billion euros and net income by 16% to 910 million euros. 

The group highlighted its continued international expansion, with a presence in over 80 countries and regions and a network of 1,902 stores worldwide. Throughout the year, Decathlon sold 1.23 billion products across all channels, reflecting strong demand for accessible, innovative sports equipment.

Other Highlights 

Throughout 2025, Decathlon strengthened its global sports partnerships, expanded its cycling activities (including owning a professional cycling team) and invested in sustainable mobility and circular economy initiatives through key acquisitions and partnerships.

From a sustainability perspective, the group has cut carbon emissions by 16% since 2021, reaching a milestone in its ecodesign approach – ecodesigned products accounted for 53.9% of total sales.

It also sold 1.6 million second-hand items across 43 markets and operated 1,746 repair workshops. Additionally, 89.4% of the electricity used was renewable, and on-site coal use was eliminated among Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers.

Decathlon employed 102,900 people in 2025, over 90% of whom expressed pride in the company, according to the statement. Meanwhile, its Foundation supported 168 new projects across 26 countries, promoting inclusion, education and empowerment through sport.
