Skechers completes new European distribution centre

The footwear company has announced that construction of its new European distribution centre near Liège Airport is set to be completed this month. It will be staffed by existing teams

The 230,000-square-metre centre is to be built near Liège Airport and Skechers’ existing Milmort site. This will enable the company to utilise its current teams during the transition. The new facility is also expected to generate business opportunities in the Wallonia region.

Designed to meet high energy performance and sustainability standards, the centre is expected to achieve BREEAM ‘Excellent’ certification. The project is being developed in partnership with the Weerts Group, and in collaboration with AWEX, SOWAER, and Liège Airport.

Skechers’ technology partner, KNAPP, will support the expansion, building on the two companies’ decade-long partnership. Installation of the new automation system is set to begin in August 2026, with the first phase expected to be completed by the end of 2028. The system will integrate logistics operations from goods receipt to shipping.

According to the statement, this new distribution center marks the next phase in Skechers’ European expansion strategy.
