LVMH posts mixed nine-month results

The luxury conglomerate reported a 2% year-on-year organic revenue growth in the first nine months of the year, while Fashion & Leather Goods sales fell further in the third quarter due to weaker demand in China
In the nine months up to the end of September 2026, LVMH recorded a revenue of 57.1 billion euros, reflecting a 2% decrease on a reported basis, but a 2% increase on an organic basis, compared to the same period last year.
“Backed by its diverse range of businesses, LVMH remained very solid in an uncertain geopolitical and economic environment, and maintained its innovative momentum”, reads the statement.
In the third quarter alone, the group’s organic revenue increased by 1% year-on-year, reaching 18.5 billion euros. While growth remained positive in the United States, Europe and Japan, business activity in China was more subdued.
The Fashion & Leather Goods division, the group’s largest, continued to face challenging trading conditions. In the first nine months of the year, revenue totalled 26.4 billion euros, representing a 4% decline on a reported basis and a 2% decline on an organic basis compared to the same period in 2025.
Performance weakened in the third quarter, with revenue falling by 5% after growing by 1% in the second quarter. This was due to the slowdown in the luxury sector in China. In contrast, all LVMH’s other divisions reported growth in this quarter.
“The third quarter brought a more challenging Chinese consumer backdrop with a ‘feel-good’ factor deteriorating at the very beginning of the quarter, and this added to a Middle East situation that is still a headwind”, said LVMH CFO Cécile Cabanis during the group’s earnings call, as quoted by Vogue Business.
