Kering appoints Francesca Bellettini as President and CEO of Gucci

The France-based luxury group has appointed Francesca Bellettini as the new president and CEO of Gucci. She has the task of leading a turnaround for the struggling luxury brand
Bellettini is taking over from Stefano Cantino, who had joined Gucci in May 2024 as deputy CEO and was appointed to the top job in October, with effect from the 1st of January 2025. In a separate statement, Gucci announced that Cantino had decided to leave the company.
“At this pivotal moment, I intend to build a leaner and clearer organization in which the best talent drive our Houses forward. Gucci, as the flagship of our Group, deserves the sharpest focus, and Francesca – one of the most seasoned and respected professionals in our industry – will bring the leadership and flawless execution needed to restore the brand to its rightful place”, commented Luca de Meo. This is his first major move since becoming CEO of Kering.
The newly appointed CEO of Gucci had served as Kering's deputy CEO in charge of brand development since 2023, working alongside Jean-Marc Duplaix. However, she has been credited with playing a central role in many of the brand’s recent decisions, including hiring former Louis Vuitton manager Cantino as Deputy CEO of Gucci and Georgian designer Demna as creative director.
“I am truly honored to take on direct responsibility for Gucci, one of the world’s most iconic luxury Houses”, said Francesca Bellettini. I look forward to working under the leadership of Luca de Meo, whose innovative and fresh perspective inspires us to push boundaries. I’m excited to embark on this new challenge together with the whole Gucci team and alongside Demna, whose creativity I have always admired”, she concluded.
Meanwhile, Kering has confirmed that Duplaix will remain in his position as chief operating officer and that the functions of Kering Deputy CEO will be eliminated.
