John Camuto, member of the Camuto Shoe Family, dies at 31
The former footwear executive, son of footwear legend Vince Camuto, has died over the weekend. He was 31 and the cause of death is believed to be a heart attack, according to the family
John is one of two sons from Vince Camuto’s second marriage. He grew up in Connecticut and graduated from Fairfield University. He started to work with his father very early in his life. Working together, they have become very close and the Vince Camuto's company became known for its strong familial culture.
John is often recognisable as a key booster of the Camuto Group’s international expansion. He also developed his own collection, the VC John Camuto women’s shoe line.
In 2015, after the death of his father Vince, John took part of the Board of the Camuto Group Advisors through the sale of the business to DSW Inc. (now Designer Brands) in 2018.
