Hermès continues to expand its production capacity

With the opening of a new leather workshop in Normandy, which will ultimately create 260 new jobs for craftsmen, the French luxury group is reaffirming its commitment to expanding its production capacity
Located in Collombeles in the French department of Calvados, the new leather goods workshop is expected to open in 2028 and create 260 new jobs for craftsmen. This site will join the three other leather workshop sites currently under development in L’Isle-d'Espagnac (Charente), Loupes (Gironde) and Charleville-Mézières (Ardennes).
These investments in production capacity aim to consolidate the Hermès made-in-France artisanal model, “a source of quality, durability, creativity and innovation”, supported by lasting relationships with local partners. For this hub, the French group is already working with the Caen-la-Mer urban community, Normandie Aménagement, and the Colombelles town council.
The craftsmen will also be recruited with the support of the École Hermès des savoir-faire, the France Travail employment service and several local employment partners. This underlines the company’s commitment to creating quality jobs and its desire to contribute to regional development.
The leather workshop of Colombelles will be the house’s 27th leather goods workshop, all of which are located in France.
