Giuseppe Marsocci appointed CEO of Giorgio Armani Group

Giuseppe Marsocci, a seasoned Armani fashion group executive, has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer of the company, with immediate effect

Giuseppe Marsocci has been named Chief Executive Officer of the Giorgio Armani Group, effective immediately, and will also join the board of directors. He will report to the board chaired by Leo Dell’Orco, with Silvana Armani set to assume the role of vice president.

The appointment, unanimously endorsed by the Armani Foundation, marks a pivotal moment for the company as it enters a new era of leadership following the passing of its iconic founder, Giorgio Armani, in September.

According to Leo Dell’Orco, “international professional experience, deep knowledge of the sector and the company, discretion, loyalty, and team spirit, together with his closeness to Mr. Armani in recent years, make Giuseppe the most natural choice to ensure continuity with the path outlined by the founder” (wwd.com).

He has more than 35 years of experience working in the international fashion and luxury sector, 23 of which have been with the Armani Group. Most recently, he was deputy managing director and global chief commercial officer.

Marsocci thanked the Armani family and board of directors, emphasising the importance of maintaining and enhancing one of the world’s most prestigious Made in Italy brands.

“The goal is challenging, especially in a luxury market undergoing deep reflection, but it is achievable thanks to the fundamental contribution of an excellent team of clients, suppliers, partners, and passionate collaborators worldwide and especially in Milan, many of whom have been close to Mr. Armani for many years”, he added (wwd.com).

The group confirmed that the final composition of the board will be finalised in the coming weeks, once Armani’s will has been executed. Marsocci’s early appointment was deemed essential to maintain the group's current momentum.
