Footasylum to expand across the Gulf region

The UK-based retailer has partnered with Dubai-based Apparel Group in support of its first major expansion into physical retail outside the UK. This move marks the company’s entry into the Gulf market
As part of the partnership, the footwear and streetwear retailer will collaborate with the Dubai-based group across wholesale, e-commerce, and franchise channels to accelerate its expansion across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
Notably, the plan is to open 40 stores across the GCC over the next five years. These stores will be located in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.
“This partnership with Apparel Group is a major step forward for Footasylum. In recent years, we’ve begun to build a growing international presence through wholesale and ecommerce, and this agreement significantly accelerates that momentum in the Gulf region”, commented David Pujolar, CEO of Footasylum.
By collaborating with Apparel Group, the company gains immediate access to a regional network of over 2,500 stores across 14 countries. The partnership also provides access to advanced retail technology, local marketing expertise and mall partnerships.
“Footasylum’s unique position in streetwear and youth-centric fashion aligns exceptionally well with the dynamic tastes of shoppers across the GCC”, highlights Neeraj Teckchandani, Chief Executive Officer of Apparel Group.
He concluded: “By combining Footasylum’s authentic brand identity with Apparel Group’s regional expertise, omnichannel infrastructure, and deep understanding of local market behaviour, we see a strong opportunity to deliver meaningful value to customers and partners alike”.
