Caleres appoints Dan Karpel as CFO

The US-based footwear company has appointed Dan Karpel to the roles of Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He will also serve as the company’s Principal Financial and Accounting Officer
Karpel rejoined Caleres as Chief Accounting Officer in October 2025, before being appointed Interim Chief Financial Officer in January 2026. He brings 30 years of accounting and finance leadership experience to the role.
Prior to returning to the company, he served as Chief Financial Officer at Club Car Wash Operating and CW Holdings. He also held the position of Chief Accounting Officer at Eyecare Partners, Spectrum Brands Holdings, and Brown Shoe Company.
“Dan’s deep understanding of our company, combined with his extensive financial and accounting expertise, has made him a valuable strategic partner since rejoining Caleres and taking the role of interim CFO”, said Jay Schmidt, President and CEO of Caleres.
Schmidt concluded: “His leadership and commitment to driving results as our CFO will be instrumental as we continue to advance our growth strategy”.
On the 4th of June, Caleres will release the results of the first quarter. The company currently anticipates total sales of 667 million US dollars and earnings per diluted share ranging from 0.39 to 0.41 US dollars, as well as adjusted earnings per diluted share ranging from 0.35 to 0.37 US dollars.
