British Footwear Association announces CEO departure

The British Footwear Association (BFA) has announced that Richard Shetliffe will step down from his role as Chief Executive Officer in early June 2026. The search for his successor is underway
According to the statement, during Richard’s tenure, the BFA has continued to play a pivotal role in supporting members on key industry issues, while also attracting new partners and members through a programme of events, monthly member calls and webinars.
“The Board are delighted with what Richard has achieved during his time with the BFA. We are sorry to see him move on and wish him well with the next stage of his career”, commented Jane Wilson, Chair of the BFA.
Richard Shetliffe, who took on the role of CEO in May 2024, said: “I’ve had a great time at the BFA, and I am proud to be leaving with the Association in a strong position for the next CEO to take forward”.
In the meantime, Richard will continue to work closely with the BFA team and the board to ensure that the full programme of events planned for 2026 is delivered. The search for his successor is underway.
