30 000 visitors expected at the next edition of Aymod
Around 30 000 visitors and 400 exhibitors are expected at the next edition of the Aymod Footwear Fashion Fair, which will be held in Istanbul from the 28th of February to the 2nd of March
Expectations are growing for the first edition of the Aymod Footwear Fashion Fair in 2024, recognised as one of the most comprehensive trade events in Türkiye. The organisation of Aymod has announced ahead that around 30 000 visitors from more than 110 countries and 400 exhibitors are expected to fill 60 000 square metres of the Istanbul Expo Centre from the 28th of February to the 2nd of March. The majority of the international customers will be from the countries of Eastern Europe and the European Union, according to the organisers.

As in previous editions, the aim is to bring together manufacturers, who will be presenting their collections for the coming season, with international brands and designers to create an international networking platform for the Turkish footwear sector. At Aymod, participants can “seize new business opportunities and establish new collaborations”, by taking advantage of the “significant marketing and communication opportunities” it offers.

With a “dynamic and stable structure” and a strong international identity, Aymod “continues to grow every year”, emphasises the organisation. The biannual event, organised by the Footwear Industrialists Association of Türkiye (TASD) has been running continuously for almost 35 years, helping to showcase the Turkish footwear sector to the world.

Located at the crossroads of Asia and Europe, the Turkish footwear industry has experienced strong growth over the past decade. According to the World Footwear 2023 Yearbook (more information available HERE), it holds a prominent position as the 6th largest footwear producer in the world and the 4th global exporter in terms of volume.

Even though it ranks 17th in the world in terms of value, the fact is that in 2022 it surpassed the 1 billion mark in exports for the first time. Moreover, no single country accounts for more than 10% of the total export value, indicating that Turkish footwear products are widely distributed across different markets.

In a previous interview with World Footwear, Berke Içten, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Footwear Industrialists Association of Türkiye, said that the Turkish footwear industry expects to reach 3 billion US dollars in exports in the coming years. It is therefore continuing to focus on traditional markets such as Russia and Ukraine, Central Asia, North Africa and Arab countries while working to increase its share in European countries.

In this context, the Aymod Footwear Fashion Fair, with “its broad participant profile” and wide range of products on offer, stands out as an international showcase that helps to promote the sector on a global scale
