Wolverine Worldwide raises full-year outlook
Following a strong second quarter driven by Merrell and Saucony, the US-based company raised its outlook for the 2026 financial year, now expecting revenue to reach between 1.98 and 2.00 billion USD
“Our team delivered another good quarter, ahead of our expectations – led again by Merrell and Saucony – along with more progress in Sweaty Betty and Wolverine. We’re executing our strategies, elevating our brands, and driving consistent, profitable growth. Based on our strong start to the year and the progress we’re seeing across the business, we’re raising our outlook for 2026”, commented Chris Hufnagel, President and Chief Executive Officer of Wolverine Worldwide.

Second-Quarter Results

In the second quarter of the 2026 fiscal year, the company recorded a total revenue of 506.4 million US dollars, which reflects an increase of 6.8% (or 6.1% on a constant currency basis) compared to the same period of the previous fiscal year.

During the quarter, the Merrell brand led growth at 11.1% (or 10.3% on a constant currency basis) year-on-year, reaching 175.5 million US dollars. The Saucony brand followed with growth of 9.9% (or 9.0% on a constant currency basis) year-on-year, reaching 158.6 million US dollars.

The company also highlighted the progress made by the Wolverine and Sweaty Betty brands during this period. The former recorded a year-on-year increase of 6.6% on both a reported and currency basis, totalling 39.6 million US dollars, while the latter recorded a decrease of 2.4% (or 2.7% on a constant currency basis), totalling 40.3 million US dollars.

In the second quarter of the current financial year, Wolverine’s gross margin fell from 47.2% to 46.5% year-on-year, mainly due to the impact of higher US tariffs, which was partially offset by price increases and other tariff mitigation initiatives.

Meanwhile, its operating margin improved by 70 basis points compared to the second quarter of the 2025 fiscal year, standing at 9.3%. The company also reported diluted earnings per share of 0.37 US dollars, an increase of 15.6% year-on-year, and adjusted diluted earnings per share of 0.40 US dollars, an increase of 14.3% year-on-year.

Full-Year Outlook

For the 2026 fiscal year, Wolverine Worldwide expects revenue growth of between 5.6% and 6.7% (or between 4.9% and 5.9%), reaching 1.98 billion to 2.00 billion US dollars, compared to the last fiscal year. This is an improvement on the previous revenue outlook of approximately 1.96 to 1.98 billion US dollars.

Full-year diluted earnings per share are expected to be in the range of 1.48 to1.58 US dollars, up from the previous outlook of 1.39 to 1.54 US dollars. Adjusted diluted earnings per share are expected to be in the range of 1.55 to1.65 US dollars, up from the previous outlook of 1.43 to1.58 US dollars.
