UITIC 2027 Congress to explore the future of the footwear industry

The 2027 UITIC Congress will take place in Jakarta from the 2nd to the 4th of August, focusing on advanced technologies, sustainable manufacturing and resilience under the theme “Engineering the Future of the Footwear Industry”

The 23^rdUITIC International Congress, organised in collaboration with KRISTA Exhibitions and APRISINDO, will take place in Jakarta, Indonesia, from the 2^ndto the 4^th of August 2027, under the theme ‘Engineering the Future of the Footwear Industry’. This reflects the Congress’s intent to explore the transformations reshaping the design, manufacturing, and business models of the footwear sector.

UITIC, the International Union of Shoe Industry Technicians, is an international organisation bringing together footwear industry professionals and specialists in technology and manufacturing.

The overarching theme of the event will be ‘Advanced Technologies, Sustainable Manufacturing and Resilience in a Changing Global Landscape’, with a particular focus on the growing adoption of new technologies in design and manufacturing processes. These technologies range from artificial intelligence and intelligent product design to physical AI in the factory.

The programme will also address sustainability’s potential as a competitive asset and the need for companies to develop greater resilience and agility in an increasingly complex and unpredictable global environment.

UITIC has unveiled parts of the programme for the 2027 Congress, which combines industry and factory visits with conference sessions and activities held alongside the ILF (Indo Leather & Footwear Expo) and IGT (Indo Garment & Textile Expo). The Innovation Showcase will return, and the programme will feature keynote speeches, technical sessions, expert panels and networking events.
