Stella McCartney names new CEO
Amandine Ohayon has been appointed the new CEO of the British premium shoe and ready-to-wear brand. She succeeds Gabriele Maggio, who is leaving after four years at the helm
Ohayon joins Stella McCartney from the luxury bridalwear brand Pronovias, where she also served as CEO and managed the company’s sale to Bain Capital earlier this year. She began her career in 1998 as a retail and event executive at Christian Lacroix in New York, before joining L’Oréal in 1999 as Lancôme product manager in Paris. Amandine remained with L’Oréal for the next 18 years, holding several positions across luxury skincare, fragrances, and cosmetics segments.

She has been tasked with the transformation of the Stella McCartney business, which was severely hit by the pandemic and has been slow to recover, despite the boom in luxury consumption. “I am delighted to welcome Amandine as CEO. Her leadership and wealth of experience across businesses and geographies will be strong assets to build a brilliant future for the company. Her passion for great fashion and ethical values makes her a great partner in our quest to champion a sustainable way to business success”, commented McCartney.

Founded in 2021, Stella McCartney is backed by the luxury conglomerate LVMH, which took a minority stake in the brand in 2019 after its founder Stella McCartney ended a 17-year partnership with former parent Kering. Currently, the British label has 48 directly owned stores and 21 franchise stores across London, Paris, Milan, New York, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Beijing.
