Special exhibition celebrates 17 years of the National Footwear Museum
The show aims to honor two great names in the history of footwear in Novo Hamburgo, Brazil
To celebrate its 17th anniversary, the National Footwear Museum is hosting an exhibition dedicated to two men who played a relevant role in setting the institution up 17 years ago.

Under the name Lauro Senger and Gilberto Simon: guardians of footwear memory, the exhibition aims to honor two of the main collaborators of the collection of the Museum, located in Campus I of the Feevale University in Novo Hamburgo, an historic region for the footwear industry in Brazil.

The municipality of Novo Hamburgo began developing its economy based in the footwear industry and, thus, became the so called National Footwear Capital. The show brings the history of this area through the work of Giberto Simon, a local designer, and Lauro Senger, a collector.

The exhibition can be visited free of charge until the 31st of January 2017.
