OTWorld trade fair spotlights AI and robotics

The Leipzig trade exhibition brings market leaders and start-ups together, with guided tours and exhibition areas spanning materials, workshop equipment, rehab tech, prosthetics and footwear
OTWorld is an international forum for modern assistive technology, convening manufacturers, distributors and service providers across prosthetics, orthotics and related disciplines. The biennial event returns to Leipzig, Germany, from May 19 to 22, 2026, combining a congress with a trade exhibition.
Trade Fair
The exhibition element is framed as a platform for market leaders in prosthetics and orthotics to present new products and services. At the 2024 edition, organisers reported 20 thousand visitors and 574 exhibitors, from 96 and 42 countries, respectively.
A central theme is the growing role of emerging technologies in assistive care, with artificial intelligence and robotics highlighted as increasingly relevant to smart prosthetics, orthotics and rehabilitation solutions.
Alongside these developments, organisers point to a broader digital shift across the sector, affecting providers, manufacturers and software developers, with a focus on practical approaches to improving efficiency, transparency and quality of care.
Complementary features are designed to broaden the experience beyond the main stands, including a dedicated start-up area intended to showcase newer entrants to the market. Guided tours centred on key themes are also planned to help visitors navigate the exhibition and identify selected highlights more efficiently.
The trade show is structured around a wide range of exhibition areas, spanning prosthetics and orthotics, orthopaedic footwear technology and technical rehabilitation, as well as workshop equipment, raw materials and consumables.
Organisers describe the target audience as encompassing clinical and technical professions, including prosthetists, orthotists, orthopaedic footwear specialists and podiatrists, rehabilitation technicians and engineers, as well as doctors, physiotherapists, suppliers and manufacturers.
