Nike shuffles leadership structure
Following Heidi O’Neill’s retirement from her role overseeing consumer, product and brand, the leadership will be divided into three areas. Amy Montagne has been promoted to President of the Nike brand
Under the leadership of President and CEO Elliott Hill, Nike’s management structure will be reorganised into three areas: Consumer and Sport, Marketing, and Product Creation, including Innovation and Design. Consequently, Heidi O’Neill, who has been President of Consumer, Product, and Brand for the past two years, will retire after 26 years with the company. She will remain in an advisory role until September 2025.

“For nearly three decades, Heidi has been a true champion for Nike, for sport and athletes across the globe. Her vision and dedication over the years have left an indelible mark on Nike and created an impact on the world of sport. Among Heidi’s many successes, she most recently elevated our brand voice, and innovation and product pipeline by putting sport and athletes at the centre of everything we do”, commented Elliott Hill, who thanked Heidi for her passion, commitment and service.

As a result, Nike announced a series of appointments. Most notably, Amy Montagne, formerly VP/GM of Global Women’s, has been promoted to President of Nike. She will be responsible for focusing on and serving consumers across all sports, as well as driving future growth for the Nike brand.

In addition, Phil McCartney, formerly VP of Footwear, has been promoted to EVP and Chief Innovation, Design and Product Officer; Nicole Graham, previously Chief Marketing Officer, has been promoted to EVP and Chief Marketing Officer; and Tom Clarke, currently a strategic advisor to the CEO and a member of the SLT, has assumed the new role of Chief Growth Initiatives Officer.

“I’m confident that with this new structure and leadership team in place, we will be able to better line up and leverage all the advantages that make Nike great. These exceptional leaders bring extensive Nike experience and have been instrumental in resetting our priorities to lead with sport and put the athlete at the centre of everything we do”, concluded Hill.
