Matthew Barnes is the new President of Foot Locker International

After Dick’s Sporting Goods acquired Foot Locker, Matthew Barnes became President of Foot Locker International, tasked with accelerating business momentum and executing targeted turnaround strategies
As President of Foot Locker International, Barnes will oversee Foot Locker stores, eCommerce and digital businesses across Europe, Asia and Australia, as well as licensed stores in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Reporting to Ed Stack, Dick’s Executive Chairman and leader of the Foot Locker business, he will join a management team comprising experienced senior leaders, including Ann Freeman, a long-standing former Nike executive who now heads up Foot Locker North America.

With nearly three decades of leadership experience spanning the United Kingdom, Europe, the US, China and Australia, Barnes is well-placed to take on his new role at Foot Locker. According to a company statement, he is credited with guiding consumer-facing companies through periods of growth and transformation, including at Aldi and Tesco.
