Get to know Evereste
An historic player within the Portuguese footwear industry, Evereste is based in São João da Madeira, one of the most important regions of the industry in the country
Evereste was founded in 1942 by João Fernandes, and at the time the factory started to produce 10 pairs a day. The manufacturing unit grew and developed, focusing its core business in the production and marketing of high quality men’s footwear.

Still working as a family business, the second and third generations are currently in charge of the management of the group. All stages of the production and marketing processes, from research, creation, marketing, production to distribution and after-sales follow-up, are held inside the group.

A constant bet on innovation and a permanent focus on service excellence have been the main characteristics of the group, and its brands, Everest, Chibs and Fugato.

Chibs is a brand born in the 90s and created by Evereste. It began as a male shoes brand with urban models, highly based on innovation. In 2011, Chibs released its first female collection, and nowadays the brand presents in each new season models for both men and women.

With the motto “Walk With Us”, Chibs is highly focused on fashion and comfort. The brand’s inspiration comes from the urban environment that one can breathe in the main fashion capitals around the world. Beyond the regular collections, it is also possible to customize Chibs models, allowing customers to order exclusive models, choosing different tones and materials according to their own preferences.

Since 2002 the group has added a new brand in the portfolio, Fugato, dedicated to men’s footwear.
