Fashion falters as LVMH returns to growth in the third quarter
The France-based luxury group reported 1% year-on-year growth in the third quarter, with improvements across all business segments. However, the fashion & leather goods segment continues to falter
In the third quarter of the 2025 financial year, LVMH’s revenue amounted to 18.3 billion euros, representing a 1% year-on-year increase as compared to the same period of the previous year. 

“The third quarter saw an improvement across all business groups and all regions, with the exception of Europe, where revenue from tourist spending declined, affected by currency fluctuations, which weighed more on the quarter than earlier in the year”, the statement reads. 

Over the past nine months, the group’s revenue decreased by 4% on a reported basis and by 2% on an organic basis, totalling 58.1 billion euros, on a comparable basis to the same period in the 2024 financial year.

During this period, the performance of Europe and the United States remained stable, supported by robust local demand. Japan’s performance declined year-on-year, following a prior boost from tourism driven by a weaker yen. However, the rest of Asia showed clear improvement relative to 2024.

Fashion & Leather Goods 

Unlike other segments, which reported growth, it is worth noting that LVMH’s Fashion & Leather Goods segment experienced a decline in performance during the first nine months of the year and in the third quarter, marking the fifth consecutive quarter of decline. 

In the year leading up to September, revenue fell by 8%, with organic revenue dropping by 6% to reach 27.6 billion euros, as compared to the same period in 2024. In the third quarter alone, organic revenue decreased by 2% year-on-year to reach 8.5 billion euros – despite an improving trend, the business segment remains in the red.
