Caleres appoints first-ever head of New York Brands division

The US-based footwear company has appointed Kristen Sosa to the newly created position of Division President of Brand Portfolio – New York Brands, as it continues to strengthen its brand portfolio
In this new role, Sosa will oversee operations and have responsibility for Stuart Weitzman, Allen Edmonds, Franco Sarto, Vince, Veronica Beard and Favorite Daughter. She will report to Jay Schmidt, Calares’ President and CEO. “I am excited to lead these powerful brands at such an important time for Caleres”.
“Kristen is a proven merchant leader with deep experience in fashion across all channels, particularly with expertise in contemporary and luxury. She has a strong track record of launching, scaling and revitalizing businesses”, said Schmidt. As the company continues to strengthen its portfolio of brands, she is expected to provide “the strategic focus and operational discipline needed” to drive it into its next phase of growth.
With 30 years of experience in leadership roles within the luxury, fashion and retail industries, she most recently served as CEO of North America at Zadig & Voltaire, and previously as President of the Americas at Marc Jacobs. She was also Chief Merchant at Olivela and held senior executive positions at Saks Fifth Avenue, including Executive Vice President, Chief Merchant and Head of Digital.
