Vivobarefoot launches trial 3D footwear try-on platform
The brand launched a trial platform for creating tailored, circular and locally assembled footwear using AI-assisted 3D foot scans and is looking for 200 Britons to test the first-generation products
Developed with the 3D graphics Unreal Engine, VivoBiome uses photoreal visuals to bring each product to life and provide an immersive experience for those participating. Each user in the trial will get to virtually try on the product and further customize its design and colour before printing.

The shoes are then 3D-printed locally to minimize waste, energy and emissions, as well as promote circularity - each pair can be returned after being used to be turned into a new one. In declarations to Retail Tech Innovation Hub, Asher Clark, Vivobarefoot co-founder and CDO, said that VivoBiome reflects a “radical vision for a circular system”.

Each applicant in the trial programme will receive three pairs of the first generation of VivoBiome products and will be asked to provide feedback and suggest adjustments or developments for later models. According to National Technology News, the trial will start in early 2024, and a global rollout will be confirmed later.
