Melissa and Karl Lagerfeld in new partnership
The famous fashion designer joins Brazil based brand Melissa for the third time, to present a new capsule collection

The newest collection is inspired by elements close to the designer's day to day, such as his gloves, pearls and his cat.

The capsule collection features four models: Violatta, Pearl, Melissa, Ultragirl and Updise Down Heel. Melissa Violatta and Pearl are two different styles which have in common the application of pearls. One is a hollow flat and the other a peep tow. Melissa Ultragirl is inspired by Karl’s pet cat, Choupette, and it’s a flat shoe with a feline face stamped on top of the shoe. Finally, Melissa Upside Down Heel is a sandal with a delicate buckle on the instep, whose main feature is the upside down heel, thinner on top and thicker at the base inverted heel.

Melissa is a famous Brazilian brand owned by group Grendene. Launched in the late 1970’s the plastic shoes are very popular amongst women and children. The main characteristic feature of the brand is the continuous collaboration with famous plastic artists, fashion designers and architects to develop collections and special lines. Famous collaborations include Taiwanese-Canadian fashion designer Jason Wu, English fashion designer Vivienne Westwood and Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid.
