Inês Caleiro wins design award in Shanghai
The Portuguese designer behind the footwear and accessories brand Guava was distinguished with a Dream Award
For the first time, a Portuguese designer will be present at the ceremony of the International Fashion and Design Awards attributed by the Crowd Fashion Challenge. And for first time, the distinguished designer with a Dream Award is Portuguese.

The work of Inês Caleiro, founder and creative director behind the brand Guava was distinguished with the Dream Award, dedicated to the most promising designers and established with the  “mission of discovering new talents, and take them to stardom” (Fashion Crowd Challenge).

For Inês, to be amongst the dozens of nominated designers, and being recognized by the votes of colleagues and other industry’s relevant figures culminates leads to a feeling of ecstasy: "to be among the Top 5 young artists from around the world is more than one prize. It is a deep sense of recognition and happiness. When I received the news that I had won a Dream Award I could not believe it. It appeared like being out of a dream. I read and reread the email several times to believe it.”

Inês recognizes this as an important stage in the life of the brand she created in 2011: "Being able to go to Shanghai to receive this award represents a new step and achievement in the life of the brand. At a time Guava is celebrating its 5th anniversary, receiving the award is amazing. "

After a year with Jimmy Choo in London, Inês worked for two years in Washington, for the Portuguese brand of luxury furniture Boca do Lobo. And that's when she realized that design was part of her life and that shoes were the ultimate expression of her passion for design.

In 2011 Inês created Guava, a Portuguese brand of shoes and accessories for woman, with a deep belief that passion moves design, and design moves the world.
