Andy Rubin is to be promoted to the newly created role of Chairman of its brand management division, Pentland Brands. Andy Long, currently COO of Pentland Brands, will succeed Andy Rubin as CEO. Both will assume their new roles with effect from 1st January 2015
Andy Rubin, a member of Pentland Group’s founding family, has been with Pentland Brands for 23 years, 16 of them as CEO.  Andy Long has been at Pentland for nine years, following roles at Procter & Gamble and Boots, and became co-President of Speedo in 2006. He has been a member of the Pentland Brands Executive Team since 2009 and became COO in 2012.

Stephen Rubin, Chairman of the Pentland Group PLC commented on the changes: "Both Andy's are leading a successful brand building organisation which will produce record sales and profits in 2014 and has won various awards recognising the team's achievements. Founded in Liverpool, UK in the early 1930s as The Liverpool Shoe Company, Pentland was listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1964, before becoming privately owned again in 1999. The Pentland global HQ is in the UK, and the group has offices in 20 countries around the world employing more than 19 000 people. Its brands have over 10 000 dedicated retail areas worldwide and products available across 200 countries.  It also operates more than 800 stand-alone shops.

Pentland Group PLC is a privately-owned, global brand management company with wholesale and retail businesses in sports, outdoor and fashion. The portfolio includes Berghaus, Canterbury, Speedo, Brasher, Boxfresh, Ellesse, KangaROOS, Mitre, Prostar and Red or Dead and is also the global licensee for Lacoste Chaussures, Ted Baker footwear and Kickers in the UK. The Pentland Group retail division also comprises the activities of JD Sports Fashion PLC.
