Brazilian leather exports with two digits growth
The country has registered in November a total of 206 million US dollars in exports of hides and skins, according to the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB)
The numbers were released by the Department of Foreign Trade – Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) with further analysis from the Department of Intelligence at the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB). The figures now presented reflect a decrease of 4.4% compared to similar month last year.

According to the same source, the figures for the period January - November reached a total of 2 692 billion US dollars, reflecting an increase of 18.6% from similar period last year. This value alone is already above the total leather exports registered in 2013 (2 511 billion US dollars).

According CICB: "the Brazilian leather sector has been investing heavily in quality, technology and sustainability in order to set itself apart in the global market".
