Aéropostale to reopen 500 stores
After filing for bankruptcy in May and getting acquired in September, the retailer has announced it will reopen stores in the US
The new Aéropostale Spring 2017 collection will be in stores, supported in a marketing campaign focusing on Aéropostale’s transformation and its new branding.

Aéropostale filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in spring 2016, after years of losses caused by what has been described as fierce competition. Versa Capital considered acquiring the retailer and Sycamore Partners bid on the retailer as well, but a consortium comprised of Authentic Brands Group, Simon Property Group, and General Growth Properties won the bid to acquire the retailer for an amount in excess of 200 million US dollars.
