Skechers is number two brand in the US athletic footwear market
The US-based footwear company has announced the position based on reports by The Wall Street Journal (May 18th) and Money.com (May 19th)
As Skechers secured the number two position for brand share in the US athletic footwear market for the first quarter of 2015, it also placed itself ahead of competing footwear brands like Adidas, New Balance and Asics.

“Throughout the past year Skechers has focused on product development, compelling marketing, and an aggressive growth strategy that has propelled our brand, and we’re pleased to see our athletic footwear has been so well-received by U.S. consumers”, stated Skechers President Michael Greenberg, adding: “Earlier this month, Skechers’ stock rose above 100 US dollars per share for the first time in the company’s history and we’re aiming to keep this momentum going with a diverse product line that appeals to a broad consumer audience. The global success of our walking and casual athletic footwear is driving this business growth, as well as our performance running shoes worn by elite athletes around the world, and even our flashy and colorful sport footwear collections that appeal to children and teens. Sneakers are hotter than ever in the US market and in retail stores around the world, so Skechers will continue to deliver fresh and innovative athletic footwear designs that consumers love to wear.”

Skechers is based in California and designs, develops and markets lifestyle and performance footwear for men, women and children. The company has distribution network across the United States and over 120 countries and territories worldwide, which includes department and specialty stores, more than 1 050 Skechers retail stores, and the company’s website.
